National GPA Conference Coming

The St. Louis Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association is host for this year's national GPA convention, Gateway to Grant Success Nov.  11-14 at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch.


Meredith Knopp  from The Mission Continues  and Julie Russell from United Way of Greater St. Louis are  featured keynoters and more than 70 workshops, including Writing to Win Federal Grants, led by local GPA members Cheryl Kester, CFRE and Karen Cassidy, GPC will be offered. GPC and CFRE CEUs will be awarded. Total cost=$749 GPA Members; $983 Non-members (includes a 1-year membership); $649 Students. One Day Rate: $325 GPA Members; $425 Non-members.

Chronicle Quotes Local Grantmakers on Ferguson Issues

Did you see the 9-11-14 issue of the Chronicle of Philanthropy ? (a print copy is available here) Suzanne Perry questioned some local grantmakers  (as well as reps from W.K.Kellogg & Ford foundations) about plans to assist long-simmering  racial justice issues.  The article reports responses from Amelia Bond -- Greater St. Louis Community Foundation,  the Rev. Starsky Wilson--Deaconess Foundation, and Julie Russell -- United Way of Greater St. Louis.
