What's Going On?

https://givestlday.org/

Spring has sprung and there are lots of great opportunities for local nonprofits to raise some cash and glean some knowledge. Here are a few:

  • Tuesday, May 3 is GiveSTL Day, a 24-hour giving event organized by the St. Louis Giving Foundation to help raise funds for our local nonprofits. Let's give our worthy nonprofit friends a hand (& a few $$$)! Go to the Leaderboard to see who is participating, and on May 3 to see how they are all doing.
  • Thursday, May 12 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Dan Sise of the UMSL Nonprofit Management & Leadership Program is offering the course "Basic Financial Oversight and Management for Nonprofit Organizations". Click here to learn more &/or to sign up.
  • St. Louis Community College's Summer 2016 Continuing Education brochure is out; registration begins May 2 (call 314 984-7777 to register) and they are offering some "Nonprofit Essentials" as part of their Professional Development Training: Establishing and Running a Nonprofit Organization, Parts I & II and Event Planning 101.
  • Monday, May 23 from noon to 12:30, come visit the Grants & Foundation Center at Central Library to see what we have to offer, explore the Foundation Directory Online, and meet the (still pretty new) Grants & Foundations Librarian, Lisa Thorp.
  • Thursday, May 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., St. Louis Public Library's Grants & Foundation Center presents "You've Received a Grant! Now What? Grant Management Basics for Nonprofits" with UMSL's Dan Sise. Click here to register.
