Start Something: Be A Social
Entrepreneur -- Doing Good while Doing Well! Come learn about the growing
field of social enterprise from Chris Miller, CEO of the Mission Company L3C,
and a panel of experts who have helped social entrepreneurs grow in St. Louis. Find
out what it takes to get started, how some local social entrepreneurs have
earned success and where you can go for more information and advice. In 2007, Chris joined Washington University in St. Louis’ Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. There, he helped develop the community-based social entrepreneurship education program.
Panelists include Laurie Hauber, project director for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri’s Community Economic Development Program, and Fred Domke, founder of Bridge Bread, a social entrepreneurship initiative designed to help homeless persons be productively employed and a 2014 winner of the Youthbridge Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition. Q&A. Because of the 9 am start-time, preregistration for this free event is required. Call 314-539-0357 or email me to sign-up.
The fall Start Something! workshop series is generously funded by Ms. Marilyn Bennett in memory of LaFern Soldner.
