Free 6-week Online Classes on Nonprofit Topics
Take a look at SLPL Online Learning, now available on the St. Louis Public Library website, because it offers free 24/7 access to several online classes about nonprofits & fundraising. Taught by national experts in the field, e.g. Beverly Browning, author of Grantwriting for Dummies and Perfect Phrases for Fundraising, each class includes two 2-hour sessions per week led by an on-line instructor for a total of 6 weeks, class-specific chat sessions, assignments, a final exam and certificate of completion. Sessions that start in April and May include "A-Z Grantwriting," "Advanced Grant Proposal Writing," "Introduction to Nonprofit Management," "Marketing Your Nonprofit," "Nonprofit Fundraising Essentials," "Starting a Nonprofit," "Writing Effective Grant Proposals," "Becoming a Grant Writing Consultant," and "Wow!What a Great Event." It's important to note that this information, while sound, does NOT offer vital local professional expertise and experience. However it's a great way for the possibly-interested or serious beginner to acquire some basic knowledge of the field on their own schedule.
