Attorney and UMSL instructor Dan Sise will describe the basic legal issues affecting nonprofits, including liability, risk management, insurance coverage and legal protections available for board members and volunteers. Christine Berg and Peggy Neufeld, Washington University School of Medicine faculty, describe a service-learning model that supports non-profits in programming, evaluating, building community partnerships, using research literature and evidence when writing grants, and training staff and volunteers.
