You're Invited to a special 1-hour class on HOW TO APPROACH A FOUNDATION: From Initial Contact to Getting Funded led by David Holmes, the Foundation Center's regional training director, to be held from 10 am - 11 am Weds. July 8, here at St. Louis Public Library's Central building in Mtg. Rm. 1. The session for nonprofit leaders, staff and volunteers will include tips on how to initiate contact with potential funders, plan calls and meetings, prepare for site visits and build partnerships with donors. Tues. July 14, 3-5 pm FINANCIAL BASICS FOR NONPROFITS, Central Library, Mtg. Room 1, led by Debra Leible and Mary Kay Lofgren from the nonprofit division of RubinBrown LLC. This workshop is for nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers who want to know more about reading and understanding financial statements, best budgeting & cash management practices, trends in this era of increased public and governmental demand for financial accountability.
